THRIVE Yoga & Wellness
I’m so honored that you are considering joining me to THRIVE! I am passionate about sharing my love for yoga with others because I truly believe that mindful practices like yoga & its sister science Ayurveda give us the tools to we need to live our very best lives.
I found yoga at a time in my life when I desperately needed to reconnect with myself to deal with the physical and emotional toll of recurrent miscarriages. On my mat, I was able to process my grief, reconnect with myself and learn to love and appreciate a body that had once felt ‘broken’. I knew that I had found my calling in sharing yoga with others so that they too could feel better by managing their physical and mental health and well-being in a holistic way.
If we allow it to, yoga can become a refuge from the craziness of our daily lives. Our yoga mat becomes a place to find oneself, a place to drop in to ourselves and connect, a place of union with peace, joy and ultimately, love. Yoga helps us THRIVE!

Susan Mokry, RYT 200
I have always enjoyed a variety of fitness activities growing up, but it was in college when I started running and learning hatha yoga.
Over the years, life happened, and my time was quickly filled with work and family commitments. It was not until the loss of my parents that I realized and appreciated the benefits of exercise. That was over 25 years ago, and I have not looked back.
Yoga has become particularly important to me as a great way to cross train for upcoming 5K, 10K, ½ marathons and full marathons. With daily and weekly practice, I began to understand how yoga helped stretch and strengthen my muscles, relax and control my breath, clear my mind and create greater focus.
In 2015, I completed my 200 hour vinyasa training and included restorative yoga certification in 2016. In January 2021, I will also be adding a yoga sculpt certification. Last year, I completed my training and am now a certified Tai Chi instructor.
Yoga and physical fitness have become such an important and intricate part of me; I look forward to helping and supporting others on their own yoga and fitness journey.

Sue Persia, MS, OTR/L, RYT 500, AYS
I had no idea how much yoga would shape my life when I attended my first class over 20 years ago. Practicing yoga allowed me to feel at home in my body in a way that I could not fully comprehend or express at the time. It also opened my eyes to our amazing capacity for change. Initially I experienced this mostly on a physical level. My fascination with healing through movement led to a graduate degree in occupational therapy. Gradually, a steady practice of yoga and meditation led me to experience energetic and spiritual shifts as well. Seeking a deeper understanding of these subtle yet powerful shifts led me to yoga teacher training. I am so grateful that both of my professions offer me an opportunity to support others as they use yoga and movement to transform their lives.
Yoga teaches that everything we need already exists within us; it also provides us the tools we need to experience this within our daily lives. It is this physical, emotional, and spiritual shift that allows us to participate in our lives with more joy and meaning. As a registered yoga teacher with additional certifications in kid’s yoga, perinatal yoga, and Ayurveda, it is an honor to share the wisdom of these traditions with all yogis big and small.
